Miramar Beach
After getting our yearly maintenance and a few repairs taken care of at the Tishomingo RV Service Center in Tishomingo, MS, we pointed the camper south and made a beeline for the Florida Gulf Coast. Johnny had his eye on a campground in Miramar Beach, and as luck would have it, it was just a hop away from two familiar faces—Walt, a former NASA co-worker, and Barb, a dear friend from my high-school days.
The Gulf welcomed us with those gorgeous white-sand beaches that look like they’ve been Photoshopped. And now I fully understand why they call this stretch the Emerald Coast—the water practically glows with that jewel-green color. Miramar Beach itself was buzzing with shops, restaurants, and more activity than we expected. If it was that busy in November, I can’t even imagine what the summertime traffic must be like!
