The Tattooed Moose on Johns Island
While exploring the Charleston area, we happened to drive past The Tattooed Moose. Curious about the name, I did a quick search and discovered it was a restaurant with a ton of great reviews. Even better, it looked like a total dive. Exactly our kind of place. Johnny and I are always happiest trying spots like this, and I’m happy to report it did not disappoint.
Inside (and outside), the place was covered in graffiti, which only added to its gritty, laid-back charm. It felt like the kind of spot where you know the food is going to be good before you even see a menu.
And the food absolutely lived up to the hype. We started with the duck fat fries, which might honestly be some of the best fries we’ve ever had. They were perfectly crispy without being greasy at all. Johnny ordered the duck club, and I went with the smoked chicken BLT. Both were fantastic.
If you ever find yourself in the Charleston area and are up for venturing a little off the beaten path, this is definitely a place worth checking out.
