North Beach Camp Resort
While visiting St. Augustine, we stayed at North Beach Camp Resort, and it immediately felt like our kind of campground. It sits right on the Intracoastal Waterway, with the Atlantic Ocean just across the street. The entire campground is dirt and sand, heavily wooded, and wonderfully natural. Most of the sites feel very private, with plenty of foliage separating you from your neighbors.
When we made our reservation, we decided to splurge on a riverfront site, and we were so glad we did. At check-in, they told us we’d be staying in the most requested site in the campground—and we knew right then we were in for something special. The views were incredible. Watching birds and boats drift by on the river was unbelievably relaxing and quickly became our favorite part of the day.
Being right on the river meant our site wasn’t quite as private as some of the others, but we didn’t mind at all. We actually enjoyed chatting with the many people who stopped by to tell us how lucky we were to have that spot. We’ll definitely be making our way back here someday—fingers crossed we can snag the same site again!
